Looking for great birthday party for your kids without adding big bucks to your birthday? Then look no further, we have interesting ideas and tips for great fun on decreased sticker price.

Home Sweet Home

Chances are your party will be less expensive and easier to organize if you host it in your own house or backyard. If your home is too small, take the party to a local church, club, city rental or some other place where you can rent it for couple hours. Shop around for prices and availability. If your backyard is too small, you can take party to a local park. After all, kids really just want to have fun with their friends - and the park is perfect place for that.

Keep in mind that throwing an at home party means doing setup, food, entertainment, cleanup and all other work yourself. But, on the other hand, you are in the best position to keep your costs to a minimum while stretching your budget and focus on the things that are most important to you.

Find Free Local Talent

Ask family, friends and neighbors if they have hidden talents that they might delight the kids at your next birthday party. Face-painters, magicians, jugglers, musicians and performing pets are all welcome and almost free!

Imaginative Themes

Here are some fun party themes you can do for almost nothing:

FIREFIGHTER PARTY

Set up a firefighter's obstacle course in your backyard or at the local park. Scoot down a slide, save a stuffed cat from a tree, put out a fake fire with the garden hose, ride the engine (bicycle or toy car) back to the fire station (picnic table) and win a prize. You have option to play this game in two ways; one way the best kid can get a price, the other way is to make sure every child have a chance to save animal or something else and everybody has a chance get a little price.

ACTIVITY IS THE THEME

Plan the party at a place like the local art store, public pool or a playground where the activity is the theme and entertainment. Check your local area for prices and opportunities.

DOG THEMED PARTY

Have kids transform into fun dog characters for this popular dog themed birthday party. Set up few different stations for each part of the costume and let the children take their turn at each one. For example: dog painting station where kids can have their face painted like a funny dog character. Have printed pictures of dog face designs and let kids choose character they like. Have older kids or other talented family members or friends do the painting. Make another station with different color and shape of dog ears attached to headbands for every guest. You can also make a station where kids can create or decorate their own dog collar necklaces and take home after the party. You got idea, so be creative. After that kids can play some funny dog games or dog themed scavenger hunt.

BACKWARD BIRTHDAY PARTY

Write the invitations backwards and instruct guests to wear their clothes backwards. Great everyone by saying "BYE" instead of "Hi". Open presents first, thenhave some cake, then pizza (or other food you plan to provide), then begin the party games.

TEA PARTY

Have gests dress up in frilly hats, feather boas and long gloves. Serve iced tea in plastic teapots and cups. Serve mini crustless sandwiches and petit fours instead of birthday cake.

Make Your Own Party Favours

Loot bags and party favors can add big bucks to your birthday budget. Instead of loading up treat bags with favours and candies, make fewer prizes more special by stuffing them into balloons and blowing the balloon up with the prize inside. If your prizes are too big, put a gift note (or gift number) inside the balloon instead. Kids love popping the balloons to reveal the prize inside.

Food and Time

If you are on a budget and don't want to spend a fortune on food, plan a birthday party between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. At this time kids are between meals you don't have to provide full meal. You can have just snacks, juices, and cake which takes off the pressure and price. It is good idea to make note on the invitation about that like "small snacks and cake will be provided". Also ask about information about any food allergies, so you will not have medical emergency or unwanted surprises.

Hope this article will help you to increase the fun, help with some ideas, and decrease the price of your child's next birthday.
