Allegheny Mountains

The Allegheny Mountains are a part of the Appalachian mountain range located in the eastern United States. They run from northeast to southwest through West Central Pennsylvania, and the western part of Maryland and Virginia. Consisting of a series of parallel ridges and valleys, their mean elevation is 2500 feet; but in Virginia they rise to over 4000 feet.
