Flight (military unit)

A flight is a military unit in an air force, typically comprising three or four aircraft, with their aircrew and groundcrew; or a non-flying unit of equivalent strength.

In the Royal Air Force, a ground flight is equivalent to an army platoon and is usually commanded by a Flight Lieutenant, Flying Officer, Pilot Officer or Warrant Officer. An aircraft flight is today usually commanded by a Squadron Leader.

The Army Air Corps also has flights.
