Jasper, Alberta
Jasper is a town within Jasper National Park in the Canadian province of Alberta. The town is located at an altitude of 1,067 metres (3,500 ft.) and can be reached from the west and east by the Yellowhead Highway (#16) and from the south by the Icefields Parkway (#93). The Icefields parkway begins at the intersection of Connaught Drive and the Yellowhead Highway.The Jasper Information Centre at 500 Connaught Drive provides information from Parks Canada as well as a trail office for obtaining backcountry camping permits. The centre opens daily at 9am but closes at different hours depending on the time of year.
