Joseph Thauberger

Joseph Thauberger was a Canadian farmer and politician.

In the 1972 Canadian election, Thauberger ran for the Social Credit Party of Canada in the riding of Qu’appelle, Saskatchewan. Thauberger placed last in a field of 4 candidates with 839 votes (3.1% % of the total).

Thauberger helped establish the Canada Party in the early 1990s to promote a policy of nationalism and monetary reform. He became the first leader of that party.

In the 1993 Canadian election, Thauberger ran for the Canada Party in the riding of Regina-Qu’appelle, Saskatchewan. Thauberger placed last in a field of 6 candidates with 178 votes (0.55% of the total).

Thauberger stepped down from the party leadership in 1994, and was replaced by Claire Foss. The party merged into the Canadian Action Party in 1997.
