Kelvin-Helmholtz mechanism

The Kelvin-Helmholtz mechanism occurs when the surface of a star or a planet cools. As a result of it cooling, the pressure drops, therefore the star or planet compresses to account for this pressure slight pressure loss. Because the star/planet compressed, its core will which in turn heats up the celestial object. This mechanism is evident on Jupiter.
