Klodzko
Kłodzko (formerly Glatz) is a town in south-western Poland (Lower Silesia), with 30,900 inhabitants (1995). Situated in the Lower Silesian Voivodship (since 1999), previously in Walbrzych Voivodship (1975-1998). It is on the Neisse River.
Initially in Bohemia, it was founded in the 10th century. In 1278 it was taken over by Duchy of Wroclaw, therefore considered part of Polish province of Silesia. Together with the rest of Silesia under overlordship rule of Bohemia since 1343.
Since 1525 in Habsburg empire. 1743 in Prussia, 1945 again in Poland.
Klodzko contains the old fortified citadel of Glatz, built in 1745.
